Betty Sun Li plays a flamboyant young mother in "Hot Mom!"

19 Sep – "The Legend Of Zhen Huan" star Betty Sun Li is making a comeback with a new drama series, this time playing a young mother in a modern setting.

As reported on QQ website, the actress, who charmed the world with her portrayal as the imperial consort Zhen Huan in the 2011 hit period drama, will now play a 26-year-old single lady who accidentally gets pregnant and has to change her lifestyle whilst rethinking her priorities in the new series, "Hot Mom!".

Xia Bing (Betty Sun Li), who has always loved her lifestyle that includes, karaoke, wine, heavy makeup and the principle of "No marriage before turning 30, no children before turning 35", is forced to marry a man named Yuan Bao (played by Zhang Yi) after an accidental pregnancy.

Her life becomes much more complicated when she befriends her demanding boss, Li Muzi (played by Vivian Wu), who is also pregnant. The series will chronicle the transition of these two different women into motherhood.

When asked on why she chose such a flamboyant character as opposed to her usual timid roles, Betty enthused, "That's why I chose to play the role. I am so used to playing perfect women, that I was very attracted to Xia Bing's imperfections. She is also wacky, and I never tried playing a crazy lady before."

"Hot Mom!" also stars Ming Dao, Paul Chun and Athena Chu.
