You might think you know your way around the Chick-fil-A menu, from the most underrated breakfast items to the viral ranch nugget bowl to the best way to amp up the spicy chicken sandwich. But there’s a sweet Chick-fil-A treat you probably haven’t tried yet—because it’s nearly impossible to get your hands on.

A new off-menu dessert is surfacing on social media, and it’s just as iconic as it is hard to order. It’s the Chick-fil-A frosted soda, but as good as it looks, there’s no guarantee you can get one.

What Is a Chick-fil-A Frosted Soda?

A frosted soda seems like a treat that could only exist in your wildest Chick-fil-A dreams, but believe it or not, it's real, and fans say it’s “amazing.” Can’t pick between a soda or a milkshake to pair with your chicken sandwich? A frosted soda is the solution.

For years, Chick-fil-A has sold a variety of “frosted” beverages like the Frosted Lemonade and Frosted Coffee, where the classic drinks are hand-spun with the chain’s signature Icedream dessert. But now, customers are asking for that creamy, silky, vanilla soft serve to be swirled into their favorite sodas. It’s like a root beer float, but better.

Fans have shown off Frosted Dr. Pepper, Frosted Root Beer, Frosted Hi-C, and Frosted Powerade treats online, and each one looks equally creamy, frothy, and crave-worthy. Frosted sodas might just be Chick-fil-A’s best-kept secret—but that means getting one might be more challenging than you'd think.

Does Chick-fil-A Sell Frosted Sodas?

Not officially.

We reached out to Chick-fil-A to get the details on the desserts, and here’s what we heard in an email response: “On background, Frosted Sodas are not offered on the Chick-fil-A menu nationwide. However, individual Chick-fil-A Local Owner-Operators may honor special menu requests in their restaurant.”

So, what does that mean exactly? One Chick-fil-A employee took to Reddit to explain the discrepancies.

“As for the frosted sodas, the vast majority of locations are not allowed to sell these!” they explained. “Every store is run a little differently, but please don’t be surprised if you go to CFA and they can’t do a frosted soda. Since there’s no nutritional information on it offered by [corporate], the legality of selling it becomes a little iffy.”

“However, I must admit that the frosted sodas are pretty [delicious] and frosted Hi-C is definitely a sight to behold (it tastes like strawberry marshmallows), but we still aren’t legally allowed to sell them yet,” they shared.

So, what will it take for the elusive frosted sodas to officially make their way to the menu? “The drinks are copyrighted,” the employee explained, “so [corporate] would have to have a bunch of expanded brand deals to even be able to legally put it on the menu, regardless of nutritional information.”

How to Get a Frosted Soda from Chick-fil-A

If you’re craving a frosted soda, it’s worth asking your local Chick-fil-A. Just remember to be respectful if your server can’t fulfill your off-menu order—their hands are tied.

Maybe with enough requests, Chick-fil-A corporate will answer the cries of the customers and allow frosted sodas for all. But until then, we’ll keep dreaming of the Frosted Cherry Coke and Frosted Powerade that would quench a summer thirst like no other.
