Benz Hui never expected to win viewers' love
15 Aug - TVB actor Benz Hui has been doing quite well since winning Most Popular Male Character at the TVB Anniversary Awards back in 2014 for his role in "Line Walker".
The actor, who has been offered various commercial appearances, roles in mainland dramas, and a guest appearance on the movie version of "Line Walker", stated that he never thought about winning the hearts of viewers.
"I never choose my project. It was never intentional. Whatever was given to me, I would take and perform my best," he said, as quoted by Wenweipo.
Benz stated that he never expected that the roles given to him would be memorable to many people.
"For example, when I starred in Miriam Yeung's "Love Undercover", I never thought that [the character] Officer Chung would get such a good reaction from audiences. Sometimes, you don't have to try so hard to get something to stand out," said the actor.
As for his appearance on the movie version of "Line Walker", Benz stated that he was happy that director and TVB producer Jazz Boon gave him the chance to revisit his character again.
"This time the movie will explain the mysteries of the series, like what happened to me, the mystery of my identity and what is his relationship with Ding. I accepted the invitation because of Jazz Boon. I knew it would be good even before I read it," he said.
