Benjamin Yuen still can't set wedding date due to pandemic

12 Oct – Benjamin Yuen and Bowie Cheung recently made their first public appearance together since announcing that they are engaged to be married.

As reported on Mingpao, the couple, who appeared at the promotional event for their new series "Line Walker 3", was all smiles when congratulated for their engagement, with Ben saying that they have been planning the wedding since the proposal that he made in September last year.

"But there are many things that could not be controlled under the pandemic, so we couldn't set the date," he said.

Asked if they will instead register their marriage first like most other celebrities tying the knot this year, the actor stated that that would be necessary.

"It will be completed this year, but we have to understand the procedures first. After all, there are many things to learns when you are getting married," he said.

As for Bowie, the actress said that she was still not used to being called "Mrs. Yuen" and would need time to adapt to it.

When rumours of him and his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Shum having a conflict on social media were mentioned, which supposedly sparked after he celebrated Bowie's birthday a day after Jennifer decided to announce her engagement to her non-showbiz boyfriend, Ben said that it was just a coincidence that Bowie's and Jennifer's birthdays were just one day apart.

"I will just look at the positive. I did send her a message to congratulate her and she congratulated me as well. We're all grown up," he said.
