The beloved Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser is under £85 for Cyber Monday
The Hotel Chocolat velvetiser made rich, chocolatey waves when it came onto the market in 2018, and has since become a bit of an icon in kitchenware. Sure, it's a luxury item — but we all need a good (and we mean good) — hot chocolate now it's cold outside, right?
This Cyber Monday, John Lewis has reduced the price of the velvetiser by 15 per cent in all three colours (white, copper and charcoal): the best price we've found online for the gadget all weekend — but the sale ends today, so you haven't got long to get your hands on it. The white model has already sold out so if there is a particular colour you love, you might want to go for it.
The clever, highly reviewed machine uses chunks of real chocolate and your choice of milk to create a smooth, rich mixture of (non-grainy) hot chocolate effortlessly.
It takes just two and a half minutes to make, serving at 68-70 degrees Celsius — the ideal temperature for drinking chocolate, according to the people that know — but can be used to create both hot and cold drinks. Tip: put a shot of espresso in for barista-style iced mochas in the summer, or pick up some of Hotel Chocolat's latte sachets!
Hotel Chocolat provides its own hot chocolate pouches including a number of flavours from classic milk and dark chocolate to salted caramel and vanilla white chocolate, all grated down to the perfect size for the velvetiser.
