Here’s Why Bella Thorne Decided to Leak Her Own Nudes
Bella Thorne just tweeted that she’s been a victim of a nude-photo hack.
She decided to take her “power back” and share the photos herself.
Ugh, there’s been yet another celebrity nude-photo hack, this time involving Bella Thorne. Unfortunately, these hacks are pretty common nowadays. It’s a HUGE invasion of privacy, not to mention that you can legit go to jail for it. But sadly, that doesn’t seem to stop people from doing it. Why they do it is truly a mystery, but Bella decided she wasn’t going to let anyone violate her. Instead, she took matters into her own hands. Here’s how it all went down.
Who hacked Bella Thorne?
On Thursday, some bizarre tweets started coming from Bella’s Twitter account. After a screenshot of her Snapchat account was posted along with a promise to “drop nudes” if people followed another account, it was clear that Bella was hacked.
According to Bella, the person-whom she didn’t know-was sending her her own nude photos as well as other celebrities’ and threatening to leak them. She was able to regain control of her social media accounts, but the hacker’s identity was never revealed.
Why did Bella leak her own nudes?
Bella being Bella, she handed the situation in her own way-by sharing the nudes herself before the hacker could.
Bella tweeted screenshots of her conversation with the hacker, which included the pictures he had of her boobs and him texting her “Got all the videos.” Bella said in the tweet, “Fuck u and the power u think you have over me. I’m gonna write about this in my next book 😡😡😡.”
I’m not going to include the tweet here (it seems like she didn’t want people to see her boobs in the first place, so let’s all try to be respectful of that, shall we?), but she did also include a lengthy message about why she chose to share the pictures. She wrote:
“Yesterday, as you all know, my shit was hacked. For the last 24 hours, I have been threatened with my own nudes. I feel gross, I feel watched, I feel someone has taken something special from me that I only wanted one special person to see. He has sent me multiple nude photos of other celebs, he won’t stop with me or them, he will just keep going….I’m putting this out because it’s MY DECISION NOW, U DON’T GET TO TAKE YET ANOTHER THING FROM ME. I can sleep better tonight knowing I took my power back….Here’s the photos he’s been threatening me with, in other words, here’s my boobies. So here, fuck u, and the last 24 hours I have been crying instead of celebrating my book while doing my book press. Oh yea, the FBI will be at your house shortly, so Watch. Your. Mother. Fuckin. Back.”
It’s horrible that this kind of thing keeps happening to female celebrities (and, ya know, women in general), but good for Bella for taking a stand against it.
