The biggest names in fashion and entertainment have taken to social media to honor Vivienne Westwood, after the iconic designer passed away yesterday at the age of 81. While her fellow fashion designers have praised the iconoclast's brilliance and impact, supermodels and celebrities alike are sharing stories of the designer's generosity and creativity, along with pics of decades of her groundbreaking designs. Bella Hadid

The supermodel shared several pics from her time working with Westwood, including shots from the designer's Paris Fashion Week show last March.

"From the first day I met you to the last day I saw you, you made me smile , listen, learn and love more than the day before. I will forever be grateful to have been in your orbit , because to me and most , in fashion & in humanity, you, Vivienne, were the sun," Hadid wrote. "To the coolest, most fun, incredible , humble, creative , badass, intelligent, fucking EPIC human being that has walked this earth… my inspiration and idol in all things … rest in love and Rest In Peace…🕊 I will miss you."

Naomi Campbell

The supermodel shared several photos from her years walking in Westwood's shows, along with a heartfelt caption.

"The Original Queen of Fashion, Dame #VivenneWestwood... wife, mother, grandmother and friend...," she wrote. "I remember as I child riding the bus home from school and driving by Kings Road seeing all the punks with their risk taking way of dressing and hair. It was revolutionary, i didn’t know then that I would meet Vivienne Westwood in 86 and not only get to work with her but be able to call her a friend."

"Your Strength was admirable in a business dominated by men. You were a force of nature, that would always encourage me to push forward and not give up on things I was passionate about outside of modeling," she continued. "Your honesty was to be valued whether we liked to hear it or not, you spoke your truth, real and authentic.... YOUR LEGACY IS JUST BEGINNING, and it will be etched in stone for forever, as your contribution to our industry is immeasurable. They could not make enough awards for what you truly deserved. To be be able to visit with you recently I feel blessed and will carry that memory in my heart always."

The supermodel shared several pics of her appearances in the designer's shows.

"Somehow I imagined Vivienne living way into her 100s," she wrote. "She still had so many urgent matters to shed light on, so many causes to support, still so many injustices to be outspoken about …and so many more magical outfits to create. ⭐️ This talented and brilliant lady was so unique and so punk in all the way punk should be. She did it her way, all the way. I will always be grateful for having been in her inspiring company ♥️ Rest in glorious power @viviennewestwood."

The actress shared several posts honoring the designer, including an image of her self-titled memoir. "Westwood has died. She was a brilliant creator, bold, brash, unique," she wrote. "She influenced SO MANY and gave them the permission to be themselves and beyond themselves. My longtime hairdresser and friend @seanjameshair has been a devotee and brand ambassador forever. She is tattooed all over him and was his muse. What a legacy of creativity she will always be."

The Sex and the City star called Westwood, "A true genius who never lost her northern grit," before recalling an interaction with the designer.

"Short story - An LA stylist had sent me 3 dresses from various designers for the London/Berlin/NY premiers of a film. The clothes arrived at my London hotel unclean, were unflattering and in need of alteration. I was crest fallen until a mutual friend took me immediately to see @viviennewestwood atelier and Vivienne made me a new dress in 3 days and 2 others beside for each of the upcoming openings. I’ve never forgotten her generosity and kindness in making that happen and saving the day. RIP Vivienne. You are a legend. Kx"
