Our new Bedok river! Huat ah! 13 hilarious posts on the flash floods in Singapore

People in Singapore have once again proven to be a witty bunch in the face of adversity, not even allowing the worst flash floods to dampen our spirits and sense of humour.

As areas such as Bedok and Tampines on Monday (8 Jan) saw high water levels after a heavy downpour, memes, photos and videos began to flood – pun intended – social media feeds, complete with hilarious captions.

According to Singapore’s Public Utilities Board (PUB), the flash floods had subsided by 10.30am.

The list of places reported for flash floods are as follows: Tampines Ave 12, Upper Changi Road/Bedok North Ave 4, Bedok Road/Upper Changi Road East, Arumugam Road, Sims Ave/Eunos Road 8, Sims Ave/Tanjong Katong Road, Jalan Nipah, Bedok Road/New Upper Changi Road, Tampines Road.
