Bedok Reservoir Food Centre to be temporarily closed for renovations from 1 May to 31 Jul 2023

Having been last upgraded in 2006, Bedok Reservoir Food Centre at 630 Bedok Reservoir Road will be undergoing extensive renovation work from 1 May to 31 Jul 2023, for a total period of 3 months.

Housing 36 food stalls and 75 market stalls, locals have many good things to say about Bedok Reservoir Food Centre, remarking how this is the place for comfort food. Despite being on the smaller side, many remark on how cheap and delectable the food is.

One such example would be the kway chap from Guang Liang Cooked Food 光亮熟食. Famous for being full of braised goodness and great value for money, it is common for the stall to sell out by noon.

A notice was given to stall owners in Apr 2022. This gives them ample time to sort out arrangements during the renovation work period.

The extensive renovation is said to include heavy changes — retiling, roof repairs, change of furniture & lighting & fans, installation of anti-bird fixtures, and toilet repairs. It would be quite exciting to see the new and improved Bedok Reservoir Food Centre in Aug 2023.

Although none of such news was posted on the National Environmental Agency (NEA) website, a news posting was pasted by the Aljunied Hougang Town Council (AHTC).

Now would be the perfect time to visit your favourite stalls to satisfy your cravings before the renovation works begin. During renovation works, feel free to roam around to the other hawker centres around the area. Block 216 Bedok Food Centre & Market seems like a rather promising choice!
