‘The Beam’ Used to Celebrate Sacramento Kings Wins Inspires a New De’Aaron Fox Shoe Colorway
There’s a bit of excitement added to every Sacramento Kings home win thanks to “The Beam,” a purple light that shoots into the sky above the Golden 1 Center in celebration of the victory. Curry Brand took that energy and infused it into the latest Fox 1 colorway.
The latest iteration of the Fox 1, the signature shoe of Kings star De’Aaron Fox, is dubbed “The Beam.” The shoe is a tribute to Sacramento, the only professional home Fox has ever known, and the team’s loyal fans.

To deliver on “The Beam” theme, the shoe predominantly features two different shades of purple, which is the color associated with the Kings. For instance, the model’s signature “foxtail” strap and accent paneling are more of a lighter, muted purple, and the upper mesh, midsole and heel support are a royal purple. To add a bit of pop to the shoe, Curry Brand added neon green to both the fur at the top of the tongue and the sole unit.
To ensure the shoe is court-ready, Curry Brand created the Fox 1 with a molded strap across the lightweight for lockdown, as well as an internal midfoot shank plate for support and stability. Underfoot, the shoe features lightweight and bouncy UA Flow cushioning technology, as well as a durable UA Flow outsole for improved court feel.
“The Beam” colorway of the Fox 1 is available now via UA.com and Dickssportinggoods.com, as well as in Under Armour Brand Houses and through Dick’s Sporting Goods stores. Unisex sizing retails for $120 and grade school sizing comes with a $100 price tag.
