Barbie Tung adapts "Miracles of the Namiya General Store"

3 Nov - It was revealed that Hong Kong producer Barbie Tung has adapted the bestselling Japanese mystery novel "Miracles of the Namiya General Store" into film.

As reported on ECNS, the upcoming movie, which is directed by Han Jie, has a star-studded cast that includes TFBoys' member Wang Junkai, Uyghur actress Dilraba Dilmurat, and Chinese actor Dong Zijian.

According to Han, the production took over two years to work on the screenplay before it received a green light from the original writer himself, Keigo Higashino.

"The Miracles of the Namiya General Store" revolves around three friends who find a mysterious letter from the past while hiding inside an old general store.

This is not the first time that Higashino's books have been adapted into dramas and films. His previous works that have been adapted include "Himitsu" (French movie "The Secret"), "Tantei Galileo" (Japanese movie "Galileo"), and "Yogisha Ekkusu no Kenshin" (Taiwan's "The Devotion of Suspect X").
