5 Aug – Barbie Hsu recently revealed that it was daughter Wang Hsi-yueh who saved her life back in 2016, when she fell into a coma after giving birth to her second child.
As reported on Epoch Times, the Taiwanese actress who sat down for an interview on a mainland show, "After Becoming a Mother" recently, shared that she was rushed into the ICU after giving birth to her son Wang Hsi-lin after she stopped breathing, adding that even the medical team didn't know what caused it.
Although she later regained some consciousness, Barbie said that she wasn't out of the woods yet and could only recall asking to see her daughter. The doctor then allowed her mother to bring Hsi-yueh into the ward to visit her.
"I couldn't open my eyes at the time. They were all fuzzy. But when I saw Hsi-yueh, my eyes immediately lit up. I believe she was the one who pulled me away from death's door," she said.
The actress also revealed that she told her daughter to take care of her baby brother at the time, adding that she said it because she didn't know if she would survive.
Despite the nightmare, Barbie stated that one needs to have a strong heart to be a mother, and that it was all worth it in the end.
