Balloon Museum Singapore at MBS from 13 Jun to 31 Aug with inflatables & light displays
If you are a fan of the American-French Netflix romantic comedy series Emily in Paris and are wondering where to bring your other half this Valentine’s Day, we have both good and bad news for you. The Balloon Museum Singapore, featured in Season 3, will arrive at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS), but from 13 Jun to 31 Aug. As such, you’ll have to wait.
Founded in 2020, the museum launched in Rome before gracing Paris, Naples, and New York City. The experience invites visitors to explore air as a physical and symbolic medium.
With large inflatable installations, dynamic light exhibitions, and interactive artworks, the display will transform the exhibition venue at MBS into a realm of creativity and wonder.
While ticket prices have yet to be announced by Balloon Museum Singapore, you can sign up for their waitlist. Be the first to know when tickets go on sale, and get 50 percent off.
Here are the works that previous Balloon Museums featured, so you know what to expect.
1. The Knot
The Knot (8x8x5m) is a labyrinth-like structure modelled after a clover knot. Created by the French artist Cyril Lancelin, its boundaries of separation enable one to immerse oneself in the space. The artwork has been exhibited at Design Miami and Glow Shenzhen.
2. POLYHEADRA
POLYHEADRA is an artwork made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubes and magnetic rings.
The brainchild of the German artist Karina Smigla-Bobinski who researches intuition, expression and cognition, it shows how size, scale and proportion are key to creating art.
3. Hypercosmo
Hypercosmo is a 1,000-square-metre art installation comprising balloons, kinetic lights, and video projections. Created by the art collective Hyperstudio with the creative studio Quiet Ensemble, the piece explores the links between nature, technology, and humanity.
