Balenciaga’s new tie-up with Under Armour is here.
According to the luxury fashion house, the new collaborative range featuring several footwear silhouettes is now available and being promoted via a new campaign.
First seen during Balenciaga’s spring 2025 show in Shanghai this past May, the new collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, sneakers, bags, jewelry, sunglasses, and accessories appear in a dedicated campaign lensed by photographer and videographer Joseph Kadow.
In the campaign, slow motion videos depict models Léa and Gedeon running in products from the Balenciaga x Under Armour series, which is captured in the dynamic style of conventional sportswear commercials. Stills from the video footage are combined with imagery that focuses on products that meld the American sportswear brand with Balenciaga’s silhouettes.
The Under Armour logo, centered over a classic Balenciaga stamp is ubiquitous throughout the series, appearing as insignias, prints, and embroideries, alongside the house’s signature Loop Sports icon logo.
As for the footwear, co-branded special editions of the Balenciaga Runner, 3XL and the new Hyper sneaker form the series’ shoe selection. The new collaboratively developed Hyper style is informed by Under Armour’s footwear know-how and Balenciaga’s exploration of archetypal sports shoes. Its anatomic sock-like upper envelops the foot, with the ribbed material reinforced by glossy panels and decorated with Balenciaga x Under Armour co-branding. The footwear range retails between $995 and $1,190.
The ready-to-wear echoes Under Armour’s hallmark athletic base layer pieces and reversible garments including windbreakers, quarter-zip pullovers, and track suit separates.
Jerseys, track-pants, shorts, base-layer tops, and other archetypal garments are also available as hybrid trompe-l’oeil pieces, appearing as individually layered garments, but in actuality fused together as one. Also offered are zip-up hoodies, sweatpants, and other garments and accessories, including Balenciaga’s signature baggy denim, interspersed with Under Armour’s sportswear detailing.
As for accessories, silver plated jewelry recontextualizes the Under Armour logo as the turn-lock clasp of a heavy choker necklace, and as hoop and stud earrings. Sleek, single-mold wraparound sunglasses place it in between the eyes, on an ergonomic nose bridge.
A leather lined hoodie tote transforms a zip-up hoodie into a functional shoulder bag, with the hood forming its handle. Duffle bags, backpacks, and crossbody messenger bags are reimagined in shiny leather, or realized in recycled nylon with the house’s signature washed, pierced, and distressed finishes.
These new styles are the latest in the brand’s strategy to create attention-grabbing fashion items including the Circuit, Reptile and 6XL sneakers.
