The Great British Bake Off contestant Martha Collison has announced that she is pregnant.

Martha, who holds the record for the youngest-ever contestant of the main (not Junior Bake Off) show when she competed in the 2014 series at age 17, shared the good news on her Instagram.

Sharing two photos of herself holding her baby bump in the woods, Martha wrote: "Christmas with our own little pudding, due to be ready in spring #BabyBaker #BunInTheOven."

The baker shared the post to her Instagram Stories and added: "Beyond thankful for this little blessing — our family is growing."

Plenty of fellow Bake Off contestants sent messages of congratulations in the comments, with Manon LaGréve writing: "Awwww yay!!!! This is the best news!!!!! Our babies are due at similar time."

"Oh Martha, congratulations lovely, am so happy for you and Michael and the whole family! You're going to be the most wonderful Mum and sending so much love and hugs." Frances Quinn wrote.

"Yay - beautiful Martha," commented Nancy Birthwhistle, while Sakunthala Chandrasekara added: "Many many congratulations Martha!!".

Recognisable faces from outside of Bake Off also sent loving messages, with MasterChef's Nisha Parmar writing: "Oh my goodness!!! Martha!! That's the best bun you've ever cooked!!! So happy for you both!! Congratulations."

Meanwhile, Bake Off aired its New Year special last night, bringing back some fan-favourite bakers from previous years and giving them one more chance at victory. If you just want to find out who wins the festive special, you can do so right here.
