"Back to the Past" finally releases teaser trailer

18 Mar - The highly-anticipated film, "Back to the Past" has finally released its teaser trailer, ensuring that the movie is finally going to be released soon after years of postponement.

As reported on Mingpao, the trailer, which was released on 16 March, started with a scene of Ying Ching (played by Raymond Lam) facing Hong Siu Lung (Louis Koo) in his modern clothing, telling him, "I'll kill anyone who disobeys me." It then went on to feature several familiar faces including Jessica Hsuan as Wu Ting Fong, Sonija Kwok as Kam Ching, Joyce Tung as Sin Yau, and Jimmy Au as Commander To Fong.

The movie also reveals a conflict between Hong Siu Lung and Ying Ching, with Hong asking Ying to leave his family alone, and the latter saying that it was a man from his world that wouldn't let him go.

No news as to when the movie will actually be released, though it could be in the second half of 2021.

It is noted that Louis had been planning for the movie sequel since 2015, but only got to finally reunite all the cast members in 2019.

The original 2001 TVB series "A Step into the Past", tells the story of Hong Siu Lung, a 21st-century Hong Kong VIPPU special agent who travels back in time to the Warring States period of ancient China and subsequently gets himself involved in a number of important historical events that led to the first unification of China under the Qin dynasty.
