"Babae at Baril" bags most awards at Gawad Urian

11 Nov – The Rae Red movie, "Babae at Baril", recently bagged the most awards at the 43rd Gawad Urian, which was held online on 10 November.

The news was shared on Instagram by its lead star Janine Gutierrez, who won Best Actress for her performance in the movie, writing, "Many many thanks to Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino for acknowledging everything we were [trying] to achieve with this film for Filipina women. So honoured and humbled and grateful to be part of team ["Babae At Baril"]."

"Even though we did not attend New York and Osaka, we received another kind of recognition by our Gawad Urian️ (and for me, to be among the artists I have long admired!)," she added.

Aside from Best Actress, the movie also won Best Picture, Best Director for Rae Red, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Production Design.

"Babae at Baril" stars Gutierrez as a department store saleslady who discovers how much power owning a gun can give her, after discovering a peculiar-looking gun on her doorstep.
