Azizulhasni Awang joins Alif Satar's first "Geng Subuh Macam Jumaat" event for 2025
3 Jan - Olympic silver-medalist Azizulhasni Awang recently revealed that his 2025 started with a congregational Subuh prayer organised by singer-actor Alif Satar.
On 1 January, the Malaysian Olympic cyclist shared several photos of him attending the first "Geng Subuh Macam Jumaat" (Praying Subuh like It's Friday Congregation Gang) event for 2025 at the Saidina Umar Al-Khatab Mosque in Bukit Damansara, which brought many other well-known faces including national football captain, Safiq Rahim.
"Masha-Allah, Tabarakallah," he posted. "A very good beginning of the year 2025. I am blessed to have friends around who are always inviting people towards good things. Thank you, [Alif Satar]."
Meanwhile, Alif said that he hopes that they will be able to continue doing this event, and continue to fill up the mosque every Subuh prayer throughout 2025.
The 'Geng Subuh Macam Jumaat' programme in conjunction with the start of 2025 was filled with various activities such as tazkirah, new year's speech by the Chairman of the Saidina Umar Al-Khatab Mosque, Tan Sri Dr Syed Hamid Albar, 'Fun Run' as well as breakfast.
The campaign started in late 2023, when Alif, inspired by the situation that was unfolding in Gaza, suggested the idea of filling up mosques just like a Friday prayer but during Subuh prayer, the time where most Muslims would usually skip going to praying venues to do the congregational prayer and opt for individual prayers at home instead.
