Ayo Edebiri, star of The Bear, accepted the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes last night, and in doing so sent the internet into a tailspin with her heartwarming acceptance speech.

After thanking her co-stars (The Bear lead Jeremy Allen White won Best Male Actor just minutes before), as well as her family, Edebiri made sure to acknowledge the people who really make it all happen: the executive assistants of Hollywood.

'There’s so many people who I probably forgot to thank—oh my God! Oh my God! All of my agent and managers’ assistants! The people who answer my emails!' she exclaimed to applause and laughter. 'Y’all are real ones! Thank you for answering my crazy, crazy emails.' The camera even panned to Taylor Swift in the audience, as the singer nodded her head in agreement.

The Bear has been an award season darling since it started sweeping up wins after its critically acclaimed first season in 2022. Edebiri reflected on being a part of a breakthrough prestige television series and the fame that comes along with it last September, in a roundtable discussion for Harper’s Bazaar.

'[The success is] almost this thing that feels like your life is being reframed, like there’s something different between your lived experience and how people are perceiving you or something,' she said. 'I can clock in my head that I’m going to award shows that I’ve never gone to before, or I’m getting photos taken of me where I’m all dolled up, and that hasn’t happened before. It’s exciting, but it’s also somehow the least interesting part. The best part of it all is that I get to work on a show that I love with people who I think are so cool and so smart.'
