Ayn Bernos joins Miss Universe PH to represent girls like her

17 Aug – Tik Tok star Ayn Bernos doesn't care if you think she's not Miss Universe material, as she is planning to do her best to show others what she can do.

The content creator recently took to social media to address her haters, saying that she has received comments saying that she must be having a mental health problem to think she has a chance against other contenders in the pageant.

"Let me clarify one thing. I did not join Miss Universe Philippines because I believed I was the beauty standard. I joined it because I know I'm not, and it's about time girls like me are allowed to try to," she posted on IG Story. "Every time I start doubting myself, I always go back to my purpose: I needed someone like me on stage when I was younger. I did not feel represented. So now that I can do it for the next generation-why wait?"

Ayn said that telling herself she is not good enough is like telling those who looked up to her that they are not good enough, which is something she refused to do.

In another post, she wrote, "When you're trying something new so publicly, it's almost impossible to avoid naysayers. I experienced it when I was talking about moving back home to start my business. It happened when I was trying to become a full-time content creator. And recently, it happened when I expressed my dreams of becoming a beauty queen."

"If someone tells you you can't, they're showing you THEIR limits. Not yours. I once read this quote and I've been holding it close to my heart ever since. People may not agree with me or believe in me, but that does not mean I shouldn't try. There is so much power in simply TRYING after all. In doing. In defying."
