Aya Hirano and Masashi Taniguchi heading for divorce
17 Sep - Aya Hirano and Masashi Taniguchi are heading for divorce after eight months of marriage.
The rumours were first confirmed by Masashi, who posted a message on Instagram that read, "It is true that we are discussing our divorce through lawyers. In order to protect the other person and those around them, we discussed this quietly to avoid making a big fuss."
Masashi said that he was surprised when the news of their divorce was leaked to the media.
"Because this is a matter between husband and wife, we would like to discuss this without violating each other's privacy and hope to make progress peacefully as soon as possible," he added.
Aya also echoed similarly, saying that she can't say more about it as the negotiations are still currently ongoing.
Tabloids recently reported that the marriage between the two went well only a few months before the fights between them increased more and more. They stated that a police intervention was even needed during a bickering in April, which led to Masashi leaving their home temporarily and Aya given a warning not to contact or approach him.
The two met while working together in the stage play of "Chainsaw Man" before announcing their marriage in January.
