Award-winning North Indian restaurant spreads its wings to TTDI, bringing the “copper experience” to your doorstep
Serving millions since 1972, Copper Chimney has finally landed in TTDI to give Malaysians a full experience of their 5-decade-long legacy. Also known as Copper Grillhouse to some, this famous restaurant opens its doors daily from 11.30am to 11pm.
Establishing itself as a contemporary Indian restaurant brand, Copper Chimney’s main focus is slow-cooked dishes that are heavily influenced from states across North India.
Their crowd-favourite options feature Butter Chicken (RM42, ~S$12), Vegetable Biryani (RM34, ~S$10), and Roomali Roti (RM10, ~S$3). Pair these 3 together for a filling meal that’s guaranteed to take you back to Bombay without even getting up from your seat.
Tear a bite-sized piece of the delicate paper-thin roti which is cooked in their signature tawa, before dipping it into a bowl of shredded tandoori chicken that has been simmered in their secret tomato gravy. Expect a pleasant burst of sweet, nutty flavour from the dry fenugreek added to the dish.
Not a fan of bread? Pair it with their saffron-infused biryani instead as your carb. Order the Cucumber Raita (RM10, ~S$3) on the side — cold, fresh cucumber diced and mixed together with herbs and blanketed in thick yoghurt for a creamy touch.
If you’re familiar with the vibrant and diverse selection of Indian beverages, you will know that they will never run out of ideas. You can see colourful drinks being sold along the streets of India — a representation of their culture.
Copper Chimney has taken a much more creative approach by catering their drink menu to suit Malaysian taste buds. Offering a vast selection ranging from lassi to coffee, you’re gonna take a long time to just choose one!
You can opt for a glass of Watermelon Mojito (RM22, ~S$6) if you’re already overwhelmed by the burst of bold flavours from the dishes. Feeling adventurous? Try their Punjabi Masala Chaas (RM18, ~S$5) — lassi with roasted black cumin, chaat masala, coriander, and a teeny-tiny hint of fresh chilli.
Copper Chimney is the go-to place if you’ve been craving for authentic North Indian food. The classy decor, relaxing ambiance, and muted lighting make this the ideal place for any special occasion.
