‘Avengers’ Director Joss Whedon Fears US Will Start Killing Gays

Director Joss Whedon (“The Avengers”) strongly hinted in a twitter post on Thursday night that President Donald Trump’s government might follow the example of Chechnya’s government and murder gay men.

Whedon, who is currently in early talks to direct a “Batgirl” film for DC Films and Warner Bros., has been a longtime critic of Trump. Whedon launched a star-studded pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC called Save The Day during the 2016 presidential election.

After Trump won the election, Whedon tweeted “This is simple: Trump cannot CANNOT be allowed a term in office. It’s not about 2018. It’s about RIGHT NOW.”

Whedon recently went on the offensive and attacked Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Republicans in general: “Rejecting DeVos was the GOP’s easiest way to say ‘Mr Prez, let’s take this slow, we got 4 yrs’. Instead they declared war on our children.”

The election seems to have taken a tool on Whedon who also recently tweeted, “I think I’m broken. I never ran smooth but I think I’m really broken, I’m sorry, I was funny for a while, good times, please keep fighting.”

Meanwhile on the fanboy side, Whedon’s move to DC Films would be a big shakeup for the comic book movie world, having served as a core creative force behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe as director of “The Avengers” and its 2015 sequel, “Age of Ultron.” He also had a hand in Marvel’s expansion to television by co-creating the ABC series “Agents of SHIELD” in 2013.
