Here Are All The Athletes Who Were Invited To The 2023 Met Gala
This year's Met Gala, themed "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" saw a bevy of A-list celebs dressed to the nines. And now that fashion's most important event of the year is over, there are tons of amazing looks to sift through and talk about. While the editors of Women's Health are always excited to see our favorite musicians, actors, and models peacock about, many massive stars from the sports world are invited to the benefit every year as well—and we're always so here for it. Sneak a peek below to check out the best-dressed athletes at the 2023 Met Gala.
Brittney Griner
The eight-time WNBA All-Star, who was released from Russian custody just a few months ago, got to walk the red carpet with her wife Cherelle. Griner rocked a beige custom Calvin Klein suit for the event.
Russell Westbrook
The Los Angeles Clippers point guard and nine-time NBA All-Star wore a Bode cardigan paired with paisley dress pants to the gala this year—and accessorized with a pearl necklace.
Eileen Gu
The youngest Olympic champion in freestyle skiing wore an eye-catching look by Hong Kong designer Robert Wun. Her white peplum gown was coated in marks meant to look like wine stains—so stylish and with a sense of humor to boot!
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is further cementing his position as an NBA style icon with this layered tweed look that interpreted the theme perfectly in Thom Browne.
Daniel Ricciardo
The F1 racer showed up in a three-piece Thom Browne suit. Ricciardo was apparently rubbing shoulders with celebs like Anna Hathaway, who admitted she is a "huge fan of a F1."
Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife Brittany Mahomes both looked great on this night out. Patrick wore a black Hugo Boss suit along with some shades, while Brittany sported a bedazzled white off-shoulder gown with a high slit.
Serena Williams
The 23-time Grand Slam champion walked the carpet with husband (and Reddit cofounder) Alexis Ohanian. Serena wore a form-fitting custom Gucci gown accented by tulle, rhinestones, and a cascading pearl necklace. She also chose to make the night extra special with a pregnancy reveal for child no. two!
Dwyane Wade
Dwyane and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, dressed in matching Prada leather 'fits: He wore a sleek overcoat over a black leather vest, while Gabrielle sported a long trench coat over her red gown.
Roger Federer
The 20-time Grand Slam champ was a co-chair of this year's benefit alongside Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Dua Lipa, and of course, Anna Wintour. The sunglasses are likely a nod to Karl Lagerfeld, but other than that Federer kept it subdued in a classic, double-breasted Dior tux and a new Rolex Perpetual 1908.
Stefon Diggs
The Buffalo Bills wide receiver wore a gray-and-black tweed Tommy Hilfiger suit with peak lapels. Then, he added a pop of color by accessorizing the look a ruby-and-pearl chain.
