Ateez’s Hongjoong Updates Western Style in Red Fringe Jacket and Beret to Balmain’s Spring 2024 Show
K-pop star Hongjoong made a bold red statement at the Balmain spring 2024 fashion show on Thursday in Paris, looking to the brand for his outfit.
The Ateez group member wore a red jacket with sharp shoulders, black buttons and fringe detail from Balmain’s resort 2024 collection. He completed his western-inspired ensemble with a Balmain beret, patent leather ankle boots and the B-Buzz Dynasty bag.

Presented during Paris Fashion Week, Balmain’s spring 2024 show came after pieces from the latest ready-to-wear spring collection were stolen. Under creative director Olivier Rousteing, WWD reported on the collection, writing, “He opened the show with tailored looks in black and white, the jackets strong in the shoulder and blown backward into a little peplum. Here Rousteing is on terra firma.”
In September, Hongjoong was announced as a brand ambassador for Balmain.

It was like walking in a beautiful garden, forever engraved in my brain,” a caption from Hongjoong read on Ateez’s official Instagram page.
Hongjoong is a leading member of the boy band Ateez, which members include Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho. The group, which debuted in 2018, is part of the growing trend of K-pop stars partnering with big fashion brands, due to their virality.
Paris Fashion Week, held through Oct. 3, will include 100 fashion shows and events. This season’s highlights include Carven, Rabanne and latest guest creative director Future presenting his collection for Lanvin Lab.
