Assunta de Rossi admits challenge being first time mother
22 Feb – Assunta de Rossi recently admitted that being a first time mother was never easy, especially at her age.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who welcomed baby Julia back in October last year, revealed in an interview with Toni Gonzaga that she has been taking care of her daughter all the time and has been sleep deprived since day one.
"I'm used to it now, but there are times when it is difficult. You take it one day at a time really because while you may be okay today, you are not guaranteed to be okay tomorrow," she said.
de Rossi also admitted that breastfeeding a baby is not an easy task and that nobody could say that a mother is doing nothing when they are feeding their child.
"Breastfeeding burns a lot of calories and of course, we need fuel so even if we sometimes have no appetite, we will try to eat so that we can feed our baby properly," she said.
Despite the challenges, the actress stressed that she is cherishing every moment with her miracle baby, especially since she was born 18 years into her marriage with husband Jules Ledesma. The couple married in 2002.
"It will come to the point that she no longer needs you. It goes by so fast," she said.
