True or false? In college, my girlfriends and I often sang a made-up song with the chorus “I want 50 more chips in my mouth"—a reflection of our passion for potato chips. Answer: True.
Needless to say, potato chips are an important part of my life. I love crunchy, salty, flavorful chips, and I tend to steer away from too-oily ones that leave a greasy residue on my greedy little paws. And when I say “steer away,” I mean I’ll still eat way too many but I may not buy the brand again.
If there’s a new chip flavor, I’m going to try it, and if I’m on a car ride longer than an hour, chips will be my co-pilot. And why, yes, I do have a favorite type of chip. I love the perfectly folded chips for an added layer of crunch. It turns out I’m not alone in my adoration; potato chips have been the number one snack in the US for the last 50 years.
