This Artist's Drag Queen Barbie Dolls Are PERFECT
The queens of RuPaul's Drag Race are famous for turning over instantly iconic looks (and verbal side-eyes), so it's not a surprise that the RPDR fandom loves to pay homage in ways as creative and artistic as the contestants themselves are. One artist, Mark Jonathan, pays tribute to these fabulous performers in a particularly appropriate way: by painting Barbie dolls as RuPaul contestants, in a series he calls "Drag RuPaints."
First shared on his Instagram @mark_jonathan_repaints, Mark posted "before and after" shots of the transformed dolls. Season 9 contestant Valentina's the subject of two Barbie RuPaints, and both of them are modelesque creations:

As does Season 7 contestant (and eventual winner) Violet Chachki:

But the original RuPaint belongs to Season 7 contestant Trixie Mattel - whose name is obviously the most perfect fit for the entire art series:

And out of all the queens, Mark Jonathan's actually shown his RuPaint to Trixie: "Freakin Mission Accomplished! So glad I was able to give @trixiemattel my doll I RuPaint-ed of her. She is ridiculously nice and obviously flawless. "

The artist also uploads his painting process on YouTube, and these videos are utterly hypnotic. Here's the one of the original Trixie Mattel RuPaint:
Wishing that Mark Jonathan would tackle one of your favorite other queens? No worries; though he's specifically working on a series of Valentina looks, it appears that he's got quite a few faves queued up for RuPaints:
