Arnold Kwok gets injured from cooking accident

18 Jul – TVB's rising star Arnold Kwok recently revealed that he had to forgo a promotional event with Jeannie Chan after sustaining injury following a mishap at home.

As reported on Mingpao, the "Threesome" actor, who spoke to the media about the accident recently, shared that he had been focusing on prepping himself up for an upcoming bodybuilding competition, which is why he had bought a new pot to steam all his food.

"That day, I was steaming chicken and quail eggs at home as a birthday meal," he said, adding that he was cooking for nearly half an hour when he forgot about the hot glass surface and decided to place cold water next to it.

"The pot exploded and the glass broke out like missiles. My hands and face were all injured and bleeding, so I went to the hospital for treatment," he said.

In the end, he received 20 stitches and had to remain in the hospital for a period of time.

Said Arnold, "I have been discharged from the hospital, but I am now back at my parents' house, where they can take care of me. The doctor told me to rest for 20 days, but since the competition is in August, I am anxious to get back to practice."

"It was the most unforgettable birthday 'gift' ever," he added.
