How to Apply to Be on Season 5 of 'Help! I Wrecked My House'
Good news, HGTV fans! Help! I Wrecked My House is coming back for a fifth season, but viewers can expect some changes to the popular renovation series. Star Jasmine Roth and her family have moved from California to Utah—and she's taking her show with her.
That means Jasmine is looking for new homeowners in need of help near her new hometown, and, yes, you can apply to be a part of it. But there are several things to consider before you sign up.
First, you need to be in the Salt Lake City or Park City areas of Utah, and you'll have to be willing to move out for 7 to 10 weeks at your own expense. You also must have three to four spaces in need of renovation. Perhaps the biggest caveat: Homeowners must have $100,000 to spend on the project. The application notes that production will contribute to the renovations, but the homeowners' budgets will be considered.
If you fit all of those criteria, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and apply. The application is thorough—you'll need to provide details about your family's history and personalities, pets, and hobbies. You'll also have to divulge some financial information, like whether you own your home and how you'll fund the renovation. Plus you'll have to describe your style and what renovations you've attempted (with photos!).
Jasmine shared the information on her Instagram page and even Ty Pennington chimed in, saying, "Omg. I’d love to be! How do I sign up? Would it be as cold as our last project together?" All jokes aside, Jasmine included an important caveat: Be aware of scammers. The only way to apply is by following the instructions on her website.
