Apple launches four iPhone 14 models, pricing begins at S$1,299
Apple today introduced the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, featuring two sizes – 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches – on top of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Interestingly, there are new colours like umber, orange and deep purple, which we will delve into a little later.
Let's take a look at the new models.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are equipped with a powerful camera system featuring new Main and front TrueDepth cameras, the Ultra Wide camera for unique perspectives, and Photonic Engine — an enhanced image pipeline. Both models include the A15 Bionic chip with a 5-core GPU, which offers incredible performance and efficiency for demanding workloads, and is designed with privacy and security built-in.
What's new is the Crash Detection feature, which detects a severe car crash and automatically dials emergency services when a user is unconscious or unable to reach their iPhone.
Both models will be available in midnight, blue, starlight, purple, and (PRODUCT)RED finishes.
Pre-orders begin Friday, 9 September, with availability for iPhone 14 beginning Friday, September 16, and availability for iPhone 14 Plus beginning Friday, 7 October.
“Our customers rely on their iPhone every day, and iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus introduce groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. With the new, larger 6.7-inch display on iPhone 14 Plus, users can enjoy more content onscreen when browsing the web and even more text,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Both phones have a powerful new Main camera with a huge leap in low-light performance, advanced connectivity capabilities with 5G and eSIM, and the incredible performance of A15 Bionic, which helps enable even better battery life. All of this, tightly integrated with iOS 16, makes iPhone more essential than ever.”
Customers can get iPhone 14 for S$54.13 a month for 24 months or S$1,299, and iPhone 14 Plus for S$62.46 a month for 24 months or S$1,499 from apple.com/sg/store, in the Apple Store app, and at Apple Store locations. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are also available through Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max features the Dynamic Island — a new design that replaces the notch and can adjust dynamically – your notifications will now appear and adapt around the pill-shaped notch.
Both models also come with the A16 Bionic chip and an always-on display.
The new chip helps to power Apple's new 48MP Main camera on iPhone, featuring a quad-pixel sensor, and Photonic Engine, an enhanced image pipeline that dramatically improves low-light photos.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available in four gorgeous new finishes: deep purple, silver, gold, and space black. Pre-orders begin Friday, 9 September, with availability beginning Friday, 16 September.
