Holy, mother! This is some big news for Modern Family.

Sarah Hyland has been hinting for weeks that something “major” would be happening to her character, and now we know what it is: Haley Dunphy has a baby on the way.

The news was revealed during season 10's episode “Did the Chicken Cross the Road?” but Hyland had been dropping clues for days. In November, she tweeted a promotion for the episode, writing, “It’s gonna be a BUMPY ride,” and “Ooooooo BABY I’m excited!”

Though many fans are excited for the oldest member of the Dunphy kids and her current love interest, Dylan (Reid Ewing), many diehards of the sitcom are disappointed by the plot line.

“I am super bummed that Haley is pregnant,” one user wrote. Another simply questioned, “Why is Haley pregnant?” This audience member said the series, “keeps ruining Haley. She used to be my favorite character, now she’s just regressed into season 1 Haley.”

Others were upset purely because they were still holding out for Haley’s former flame, Andy (Adam DeVine). “This kind of bums me out tbh really had my fingers crossed for the Andy come back,” one wrote. Another claimed, “I don’t like Dylan enough for him to be Haley’s baby daddy!!” One simply said, “Haley and Andy belong together. Quit playing around.”

The soon-to-be on-screen parents found out the news after a bumper car accident led Haley to the emergency room with a tube of lipstick up her nose (yes, you read that right). Which, as People reports, is the perfect way for the couple to find out, considering Haley had been hard-pressed to prove she didn’t have “Peter Pan syndrome.”

We’re sure there will be plenty more details, and Easter eggs from Hyland, ahead. And for those Dylan naysayers, keep in mind, there is a chance he’s not the father: Today speculates that the baby could be her ex, Arvin's (Chris Geere), too. Daddy drama? We’re here for it!
