Anthony Wong defends Sisley Choi over fake degree
5 Dec - He may have been very vocal when criticising Grace Chan's acting or Tony Hung's allegedly bad Mandarin, or even Wong Jing's political stance, but Anthony Wong was very sympathetic when it comes to his student Sisley Choi and the scandal concerning her questionable degree.
Previously, the former Miss Hong Kong runner-up was suspected of having a fake degree, after it was noted that she finished her courses through a university in the Philippines in just three months' time despite previously failing to finish her studies in Germany before joining the pageant.
As reported on Sina News, the tabloids recently gave an update on Sisley's supposed fake degree, saying that she even tried to apply to a graduate programme in the US using the certificate.
When asked about the reports, Anthony stated that people should be more forgiving of her.
"She's just a girl, not a criminal. There are other more important things we need to focus on in our society," he said.
The actor, who had dinner with Sisley prior to the reports, stated that the "Young Charioteer" star was on the verge of tears upon reading the news.
"I hope she can stay strong. I believe in her," he said.
