Anson Kong elated over Rising Star of the Year win
9 Oct - Anson Kong (AK) admitted that winning Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards 2024's Rising Star of the Year was a dream come true for him and something that he didn't expect at all.
As reported on Mingpao, the MIRROR member, who arrived in Hong Kong on 7 October following the Busan event, said that he couldn't believe it when he heard his name being announced and waited until the title of his series, "Warriors Within 2" was announced before finally realising that he won the award.
When mentioned that he won an award after 10 years of being a trainee in South Korea, he expressed, "Of course I am happy. Korea is where I started and experienced a lot of things. To win an award at such a large ceremony, it's a great feeling for me."
He is also thankful to the cast and crew of "Warriors Within 2", saying that their hard work has allowed the series and he himself to reach the international stage.
"I hope that there will be more in the future," he said, adding that he hopes to work with more directors in the future.
Aside from AK, Jo Yoon-su and Ayaka Miyoshi were also named Rising Star of the Year at the event.
