Annie Liu is thankful to Dayo Wong
4 Feb – Hong Kong-based Taiwanese actress Annie Liu couldn't help but sing praises for actor-director Dayo Wong, whom she worked with in the Lunar New Year movie, "The Grand Grandmaster".
As reported on Singtao Daily, the actress who plays a boxer in the parody movie shared that the comedian put a lot of thought into the script and scenes of the film, and that one can see his trademark comedy in every part of the film.
"He gives his actors a lot of space, and worked more like an instructor rather than a director. He is also very passionate about boxing," she said.
Annie is also thankful that Dayo gave her time to train for her role in the said movie - enabling her to portray a more convincing boxer.
"I saw how great the final result was, so all the effort that I had done did not go to waste," she added.
As to whether she has plans to direct a movie herself like Dayo did, Annie said that she realised how unprepared she is for the challenge after seeing the actor do it.
"A director has a lot of responsibilities. I still have room for improvement as an actress, so I think I need to work on that first," she added.
