Anne Hathaway Is a Vision in a Sparkling Backless Evening Gown
Anne Hathaway is once again proving why she's red-carpet royalty.
Last night, the actress attended ELLE's annual Women in Hollywood celebration. For the star-studded occasion, she and longtime stylist Erin Walsh tapped Ralph Lauren's spring 2023 collection for a shimmering, midnight blue slipdress featuring a dramatic open back and scoop neckline. A pair of black heeled sandals peeked out from underneath her sweeping dress, and she further accessorized with a diamond Bulgari Serpenti necklace (fittingly, since Hathaway is one of the luxe jeweler's global brand ambassadors).
Beauty-wise, the Oscar-winning actress opted for a natural feminine look, wearing blush, a pink lip, and simple black eyeliner. She also wore her brown hair down and mussed, with her Andy Sachs–esque bangs framing her face.
Hathaway was among the eight women ELLE tapped to star on the magazine's Women in Hollywood cover.
During her interview, she reflected on the trajectory of her Hollywood career, from her humble beginnings to her ever-growing ambitions.
"I am ambitious, and I think that's great. When you are not born into the life that you would like to have for yourself, you have to be ambitious," she told the magazine. "I have a very easy relationship with it. I love that I'm hardworking. I love that I know how to be professional. And I love that I have really big dreams and goals for myself."
She added, "I feel like there is tremendous pressure to be likable when you are a woman, or you risk being misunderstood and mistreated. And I think women are punished more harshly for their perceived transgressions. Female ambition is more often perceived as transgressive."
