Anne Hathaway demonstrates her high-fashion take on the naked dress at the Berlin Film Festival
Anne Hathaway knows how to make an entrance.
The actress was premiering her new romantic comedy, She Came To Me, at the Berlin Film Festival last night, when she showcased her high-fashion take on the ubiquitous naked dress. She stepped out in a sheer Valentino gown, which featured intricate latticework over a diaphanous material, with a nude bodysuit underneath.
The dress was straight from the couture spring/summer 2023 catwalk and it bought just as much drama to the film festival as it did at Fashion Week in Paris. She finished her look with some leather opera gloves for added drama, and some sparkling Bulgari jewels.
Hathaway, with the help of her stylist Erin Walsh, played with contrasting concepts: her tousled up-do gave sophistication, while the leather gloves added some edge. The delicate polka-dots and bow details on her heels and dress made her ensemble feel classically elegant, while the sheer material provided a dash of daring. It's one of the reasons she's one of our favourites to watch on the red carpet; you never quite know what to expect.
Earlier that day, the actress showcased another chic look in the form of a hooded Alaïa dress from the brand's spring/summer 2023 collection, which featured a deep neckline, ruched leather detail and a chic ankle-skimming length. She styled it with sheer black tights and gold heels, which she matched with her jewels.
The Devil Wears Prada star let her dress do all the talking and kept her beauty look simple and fresh: natural dewy make-up, a hint of pink on the lip and a sleek blowdry.
