Anita Mui's mother to raise money for autobiographical film

16 Jan – Tam Mei Kam, mother of late pop diva Anita Mui, recently revealed that she has plans to produce a movie that tells the real story of her daughter.

As reported on Mingpao, Tam, known to many as Mama Mui, who attended the screening of "Dear Anita" to commemorate the 15th anniversary of her passing, shared that she wants to raise RMB 10 million to start her own film.

"I hope that people who want to do something for Anita are willing to help. We'll tell the story of her childhood to the final stage of her life. I hope it will come to fruition," she said.

She also stated that she will approve of the screenplay before production.

"I would rather not take any money if the script is not suitable," she said.

As to rumours saying that she has already received HKD 300,000, Mama Mui denied it, saying that she hasn't received a dime.
