Angie Cheong gives back through Children's Heart Foundation
21 May – Thankful for the assistance she received from the public when her son Hanson was suffering from congenital heart disease, Angie Cheong in return has decided to give her full support and effort to the Hong Kong Children's Heart Foundation.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended an event held by the foundation recently, shared that a lot of kind-hearted people have been sending her well-wishes and even share a lot of information and nutritional tips to her when they found out about Hanson's condition previously.
"It gave me the motivation to give back to the community. Our goal is to raise seven figures for the foundation," she said.
She also took to social media to express her thoughts about the foundation, saying, "The rehabilitation process is quite long, and the children need to face various challenges in their path of growth! As the mother, I hope to serve wholeheartedly with the little influence that I have. At the same time, I hope that more people will be aware of the [Children's Heart Foundation] and support the Foundation's services through donations, so that more children and their families can get more appropriate support."
When asked about her son, who had a successful surgery last year, Angie said that Hanson is now recovering well.
"If his lung pressure and other organs are working properly, he should be able to return to school in September," she said, adding that Hanson will begin his junior year at an international school.
