26 Mar – Angel Locsin recently revealed that the proceeds from the Shop & Share online store will be donated exclusively for the fight against the pandemic.
On 25 March, "The General's Daughter" actress shared the news on Instagram, writing, "In hopes of truly flattening the curve and helping our [countrymen] who are most in need, in the sectors of the urban poor and working groups, we have decided it is best to donate the rest of the proceeds of Shop and Share to LGUs and an organization that now have solid COVID-19 Vaccination initiatives for members of their communities."
"This is in addition to the funding of COVID-19 tests conducted last year," she added.
Locsin stated that the proceeds, which amounted to six million pesos, will be split to benefit five cities (Baguio City, Taguig City, Quezon City, Manila City, Pasig City) and also to the Philippine Red Cross.
"These beneficiaries have reassured us that the funds we are donating will be used for vaccinations and testing especially for citizens on the priority list. Again, we thank you for your support and please know that your contributions will help our fellow Filipinos who are most in need," she expressed.
It is noted that there were 44 showbiz personalities that have auctioned their personal items on Shop & Share for the sake of charity, including Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, Billy Crawford, Catriona Gray, Joshua Garcia, Liza Soberano, Pia Wurtzbach and Zsa-Zsa Padilla.
Locsin herself previously auctioned her own Dodge Durango through the store to raise funds for the needy.
