Andy Lau participates in HK Paralympic Day

16 Jul – Despite his busy schedule, Andy Lau recently took some time off work to attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd Hong Kong Paralympic Day.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who is also the Vice President of the National Paralympic Committee, said that he would always make time to promote events that cater to people with disabilities.

"I am mainly responsible for promotional work, but I also has to understand the psychology of the athletes and provide counseling. We also communicate with them from time to time," he said.

Using the example of Hong Kong retired paralympic athlete So Wa Wai, Andy said parents of disabled children often do not understand that these children do not need a special care but an equal treatment.

Andy, who also participated in some of the activities at the event, shared that he hopes that everybody can learn more about athletes with disabilities, and that other people with disabilities will be able to start a new dream by participating in the event.
