Andy Hui to make acting comeback

12 Mar – After nearly two years of hiatus, it was revealed that Andy Hui is set to make his acting comeback soon.

As reported on Mingpao, rumours are rife that the singer, who went on hiatus following his scandal with TVB actress Jacqueline Wong back in April 2019, will be travelling to Taiwan next month to shoot a new series called "The Producer" (working title).

The said drama reportedly will revolve around the struggles of a group of singers in the music scene during the early 2000s, and will be helmed by Gao Bing-quan of "Yong-Jiu Grocery Store" fame.

Sources claimed that Andy liked the script very much after reading it and thought that the story was positive and inspirational. He reportedly will also record the theme song for the drama.

When asked about it, a representative of his management agency Sun Entertainment Culture confirmed that Andy will be filming in Taiwan, though stated that they are unsure how long he will stay there.

It is noted that Andy had previously hinted of his comeback during the Lunar New Year, telling the media that he has been exercising to prepare for new work in the Year of the Ox.

Prior to the said acting project, Andy tested the waters in June last year by appearing on ViuTV's music programme, "Chill Club".
