Andrea Brillantes denies responding to bashers on Facebook

18 Jun – Actress Andrea Brillantes has denied posting a statement on Facebook about being insulted by netizens, saying that she has no Facebook account in the first place.

As reported on PEP, the 15-year-old response came recently after a Facebook account using her name posted a long statement in response to netizens supposedly calling her a "bandwagoner" for claiming to be a fan of whichever artiste trending at the moment.

In the post, "Brillantes" supposedly stated that she has been called much worse by netizens, adding that she will not apologise for being a fan of any idol that her bashers like.

"I didn't even know I have to confirm with your arbitrary standards of being a fan of someone. I guess y'all forgot to send me a memo, but hey, I am not going to tick off every requirement on your made up "real fan" checklist just to please you," the post added.

Speaking to the media via her manager, Kat Aguila, Brillantes said that she was not the one who responded to her bashers on Facebook, adding that the only social media platform she uses is Instagram.

"Whoever posted, I am grateful for your support, but nonetheless, with what is happening right now with the back and forth of comments, it's regrettable. The least that I want is to have any negativity or conflict between everyone involved," she added.

The actress also expressed hope that people will be compassionate and kind towards each other.
