Amir Masdi says he is not the son of a wealthy man

12 Dec – Amir Masdi recently stated that people misunderstood his words in a previous social media post, which has now caused many to think that he is a son of a wealthy man.

The whole brouhaha sparked last week, when Amir posted photos of him performing at the Borneo Convention Centre in Kuching, and wrote, "First time performing for my dad's company for PanBorneo Sarawak that is almost 98% complete. Somehow proud to be a part of this achievement. My dad has been working hard both for his work department and his family."

As people began to joke about him being the son of a rich man, Amir explained that his father is nothing more than an employee of Pan Borneo Sarawak, not the owner as many claimed.

"I think the caption 'my dad's company' in my post made them think that my dad owns the company," he said.

However, Amir said that he finds the whole thing funny, especially when netizens began calling him the "son of Megah Holdings CEO" - a fictional company name that has now been adopted by netizens to signify extreme wealth.
