Amen Khalid helms late father's popular franchise with "19 Puasa"
30 Oct - Amen Khalid is continuing the legacy of his father and comedy auteur Mamat Khalid, by helming the new telemovie, "19 Puasa".
The 27-year-old director, who spoke about the project, stated that he is thankful that the cast and crew who worked with Mamat were able to make time to help realise this project before Ramadan next year.
"The momentum of 19 Puasa is on the actors. They already know their characters well, the same characters that my dad created," he said.
Amen is also ready for the possibility of viewers comparing the drama with the previous instalments directed by his late father, seeing that there can only be one Mamat Khalid.
"It would take time to reach his level. So, I will try my best to entertain people. I hope they will be able to accept this drama. This is also my way of fulfilling the wishes of fans and dad's friends," he said.
The drama will feature the stars of the four previous instalments, including Bell Ngasri, Aziz M Osman, Shazwani NS, and Joey Daud. It will also co-star Imuda, Sabri Yunus and Zainuri Misfar.
Mamat Khalid passed away back in October 2021.
