Amai Kamaruddin hopes to get a variety of roles

29 Jul – Amai Kamaruddin is hardly a new name in the industry, however having been around for ten years now, her name is still not heard of very often.
Even though she is not as popular as her peers, Amai is always on the hunt by producers and filmmakers and she is often seen in dramas, telefilms and also feature films.
However, most of the roles that the 28-year-old actress lands seems to be mostly antagonist roles.
Among the factors that she is given those roles to play is because of her facial expressions that match what the producers are looking for.
Recently, at the press screening of her new film "Temuan Takdir" held at GSC Cinemas Mid Valley, Cinema Online managed to catch up with the actress who will be playing one of the main roles in the film.
According to Amai, she doesn't want to be selective as she trusts the production teams to offer her roles which she can play well.
"I can safely say that I am often offered the same type of roles to the point that I'm so used to playing them. But the antagonist roles are very different from one another, therefore I need to really read the script before playing the character," she said.
Amai also added that she would want to play more characters in the future which are different from the usual antagonist roles she plays.
"The roles that I really dream of playing are heavy roles like someone who is abused, as it involves lots of emotion at play."
