Ali Lee has no clue about TVB's alleged new controversial clause

14 Jul – TVB actress Ali Lee recently stated that she is completely unaware of the news that TVB will be adding a new clause to the artistes' management contracts.

As reported on Mingpao, earlier sources claimed that the company is adding a new clause into the original agreement, which stipulated that an artiste should bear all the financial responsibility if they were to be found involved in any illegal activity or scandal - which may include showing a different political opinion from the company.

This, many speculated, is TVB's way to protect itself - as it will continue to collaborate with more mainland platforms in the future, as well as its response to the newly established Hong Kong National Security Act.

When asked to comment on the issue, Ali, who was speculated to have been receiving cold treatment from TVB due to her alleged support for the Hong Kong independence movement (which she has denied repeatedly), stated that she was completely unaware of it and has only heard about it from the media.

Asked if she would renew her contract with TVB if the clause is added, Ali responded, "I will wait for the renewal to happen first before I can make a decision. There is still a long time before that would happen."

Asked if the new clause could be added into the existing contract, Ali said, "I haven't heard of that."
