Alessandra de Rossi wanted Empoy for "Through Day and Night"
17 Jul - Although viewers praised the chemistry between Alessandra de Rossi and Paolo Contis in the 2018 film, "Through Night and Day" - now streaming on Netflix - the actress recently admitted that the actor was actually not the original choice for the role of Ben.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who also came up with the concept of the movie, responded to a Twitter user asking whether the casting of Contis was her decision or Viva Entertainment, saying that she actually wanted her "Kita Kita" co-star Empoy Marquez in the role.
"I wrote this for Empoy. I made them childhood friends so that they could accept each other," she wrote.
However, de Rossi stated that after seeing Contis' performance, she finally realised how perfect the actor was for the role.
"Through Night and Day" tells the love story between Ben and Jen (played by the two aforementioned stars), who decide to travel to Iceland before getting married only to find their vacation turning into a nightmare due to their constant bickering.
