MILAN — For those looking to strengthen their dedication to the Western fashion trend beyond cowboy boots and hats, Italian high-end knitwear specialist Alanui has filled its latest collection with plenty of luxe solutions.

Unveiling the fall 2024 line with a see-now-buy-now timing, creative director Carlotta Oddi has embraced new silhouettes, fabrications and techniques to enrich the ever-growing world of the brand she launched with her brother Nicolò in 2016.

Fringes swayed from suede jackets complementing garment-dyed cable knit sets, trimmed zippered knitted jackets and pants in sustainable wool, or long skirts. Desert landscapes popped up on the frayed cardigans the label is best known for — including a signature style with a bandana motif that was rendered in the new dollar-green color — while studs punctuating a series of black separates gave the theme a rock spin.

The brand’s laid-back attitude and adventurous vibe also resonated in the tie-dye effects on denim overshirts, pencil skirts and roomy pleated pants, which offered accessible alternatives to Alanui’s upscale offering and alternatives to its flashier designs.

Yet the highlight of the collection was the new Souvenir jacket for both men’s and women’s, which was crafted in felted wool in red or black and adorned with handmade embroideries of motifs such as palms and flowers in contrasting colors.

She looked to Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 cult movie “Romeo+Juliet” for inspiration to imbue a sense of romanticism and youthfulness into the range, and worked with more feminine shapes and see-through textures, too. Cue a midnight blue baby-doll dress with embroideries on its bodice and straps, as well as long-sleeve cashmere and cotton dresses worked in a lace-looking texture adorned with heart-shaped motifs. They added to pretty knitted suits trimmed in shearling-like wool and denim pants covered with cascades of crystal and pearls.

Oddi additionally expanded the Alanui Finest line, representing the pinnacle of the brand’s offering with monochrome silhouettes crafted from an exclusive cashmere and silk blend. Introduced last year to offer versatile and timeless pieces, the range saw the addition of an oversize boxy polo shirt style and of the white and dollar-green colors to the classic palette of black, midnight blue, dark gray and brown.

Originally launched with a single product — the luxury belted cardigan with a boho-chic vibe that is still the jewel in the crown of the label’s offering and reinterpreted in new ways each season — through the years Alanui has expanded to ready-to-wear, accessories, mini-me, pet and home lines. The brand, which is part of the New Guards Group, also released different collaborations, ranging from The Rolling Stones and Looney Tunes to Jacques Marie Mage, Sebago and Moon Boot, to name a few.
