Aka Chio denies plagiarising other people's art

4 Jan – Super Girls' member Aka Chio recently expressed disappointment with rumours that her paintings, which she recently featured at her charity exhibition, are nothing more than plagiarised work.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer who appeared at the Metro Radio after-party along with other Super Girls members, shared that the latest rumour is the one that hurt her the most in the many years she has been involved in showbiz.

"I worked hard for the exhibition. A month prior to the event, I didn't even get a good night sleep trying to finish the paintings," she said.

Aka stated that it is normal for a painting to have similar features to another artiste's work, but it doesn't mean that one is a copy of the other.

Singer James Ng, who also bought two of Aka's paintings at the previous event, also defended the singer, saying, "Aka's paintings are fine. I think no plagiarism can emulate an art that comes from the heart."
